Choosing the Right Coach for Your Group

How passenger numbers, luggage, route and comfort affect which vehicle you need.

Choosing a vehicle is not just about counting seats. The right choice depends on your passengers, their luggage, where you are going and how long you will be on the road.

Start with passengers

As a guide, up to 19 passengers suit a minibus (12, 16 or 19 seats), 20 to 29 a midi coach, 30 to 57 a full-size coach (32 to 57 seats) and 58 or more a double-decker. Larger groups travel in several vehicles.

Then think about luggage

Airport transfers and multi-day tours often need more luggage space than day trips. A group with large suitcases may need a bigger vehicle than its passenger number suggests. Always share an honest luggage count when asking for a quote.

Consider the route

Smaller vehicles can reach places a large coach cannot, such as narrow village streets or some hotel entrances. For countryside routes like the Cotswolds, a midi coach can be a practical choice.

Think about accessibility

Tell us early about wheelchair users or passengers with limited mobility, so we can check which vehicles and arrangements are suitable.

One vehicle or several?

For large groups, two smaller vehicles can sometimes offer more flexibility than one large one, for example when collecting from different hotels. We can suggest options for both.
